Welcome!

BIO:

I teach Chemistry, College-in-the-High School Chemistry (a 4-credit course through Carlow University), Conservation Biology and Integrated Science 9.  I am the National Honor Society advisor along with Envirothon team coach.  I am also the Elementary Basketball co-coordinator.

I spend most of my free time taking hikes in the woods with my daughter and playing trucks with my son!  I love to read!  My favorite authors are Mark Atteberry, Kyle Idleman and Jud Wilhite.

Thanks for visiting our site!

We are really excited about the opportunity to share our students’ experiences with you!

Education:

I am a 1991 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School.  I graduated from Penn State University in 1995 with a degree in Secondary Science Education with certificates in Chemistry, Biology, General Science and Environmental Science.  I began teaching at Carmichaels Area High School in 1996.

Courses:

The New Chemistry:  Kevistry…Come and see what all the excitement is about!  We will take an amazingly interesting journey into the world of discoveries and surprises by understanding the nature of matter and the changes it undergoes—in real life situations!  Dramatic Demonstrations and hands-on laboratory exploration of concepts will spark the students’ interest!  Fireworks, fireflies, and rainbows—it’s all Chemistry!

If sitting in a classroom isn’t for you, then try Environmental Science!  Students will spend a lot of time on the Nature Trail and in our Native Plant Greenhouse—even in the middle of winter!

Ready for a Challenge?  Begin taking a college class in High School!  Carlow-in-the High School Chemistry is a 4-credit course through Carlow University.
