Fall 2019
Welcome back! We have spent all summer preparing for the start of the school year. I am so excited for students to return to school. We are so thankful our Board of Education worked with administration to update how are overall GPA is calculated and Graduation Requirements. Previously our GPAs were calculated by quarter making it impossible for students who had a bad quarter to bring up their GPA. Starting this school year, student’s GPA will be calculated based on their final course grade which is an average of the four nine weeks. This allows our students to be more competitive with students from other districts who also calculate their GPA on final course average. Our Graduation Requirements have also been updated to reflect state requirements and give students more opportunity to take college or career focuses courses. Class of 2020 I am looking forward to a wonderful senior year. This year will be so important in preparing for your next step and will go by so quick! We have added some new weighted courses to our course catalog including Anatomy & Physiology I (replaced Human Biology), Anatomy and Physiology II, College Physics, and EMT. This year we are also excited to be working with the CTC to offer Oil & Gas Certification and CDL courses. This is a great opportunity for our seniors to be workforce ready. We are also glad to have additional tools to keep students safe including e-hallpass, new radios, and additional building cameras.
We are looking forward to a great year! If you need anything, please contact me at [email protected]
